Disconnected Edge Validation is a test within GeoData Sentry that identifies edges that do not connect to any other edge within the geometric network. While these edges may not create dirty areas in the Utility Network, they can lead to the edges not participating in the Utility Network subnetworks.
Disconnected edges pose a significant issue as they cannot be traced, nor can they be assigned to subnetworks. This lack of connectivity can hinder analysis and reporting. Downstream traces to customer meters or length of pipe reporting will be affected by any disconnected edges.
While these errors may not create Dirty Areas their impact hinder the full utilization of advanced Utility Network functions.
