Using Agile Practices we collaborate with our customers to deliver stable, responsive applications that utilize ArcGIS technologies. Not only do we apply the Agile Practices to our custom development projects, but internally our GeoData Product Line is developed following the same Agile Practices that we advocate for our customers.
Making the Case

Ongoing Quality Assurance – Remote Geodatabase Monitoring
Lately we have been working with several of our large utility customers on remote quality assurance testing for their enterprise geodatabases with GeoData Sentry. We have been managing the test development, test updates, and batch testing capabilities. By remotely testing data for each customer, it allows them to concentrate on their daily activities, while still monitoring data quality of the geodatabase. Key components of the process that we developed are several options for report analysis, error summation and error prioritization.
Complex Configuration Management -Data Model Management with GeoData Modeler
Maintaining and updating the enterprise geodatabase can be a daunting task with several moving parts. Each participant in the process has a responsibility to get their part of the update complete, usually with a very narrow window of time while the geodatabase is down for maintenance. Managing geodatabase model updates has traditionally been done manually through ArcCatalog, or coded with Python. While both of these methods are viable, achieving repeatable, automated updates has not been possible until now. GeoData Modeler provides a straightforward method for updating the geodatabase by just updating an Excel spreadsheet. Furthermore, GeoData Modeler schema comparison function allows for immediate validation of geodatabase updates. The ability to confirm data model updates automatically mitigates data model risk during the maintenance window.
